So Let's Root, Root, Root for the Red Barns ...

Baseball season hit full swing in May 2008, when Phillip and Claire started their annual baseball tour of the Metroplex. With friends, Kevin and Sherri, the Red Barns stopped by the Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas to see the Texas Rangers' AA team, the Frisco Roughriders, in action. Seated out on the lawn in left-centerfield, the "Play of the Game" went to Mr. Red Barn for diving after a baseball with a nearly full beer and managing to save half of it in the process. Sadly, the ball was a kid's souvenir ball which dropped on the playing field and was being tossed back up, but Mrs. Red Barn got a good laugh. A few days later, it was "Teacher Night" at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington where Claire scored the Red Barns and her parents some sweet half-price seats down the first baseline. The Rangers took on the Cleveland Indians, and Josh "The Natural" Hamilton got the fireworks started early with a deep blast to right-center field. You can take your pick on the highlight of this game: Hamilton and Milton Bradley's back-to-back first-inning homers, a near foul-ball miss by Claire's dad which almost resulted in him flying over the railing (also caught on TV by the Rangers telecast), or Claire's dad returning from a long bathroom break with five Josh Hamilton jersey shirts. Baseball season had just begun!

... For it's ONE, TWO, THREE Beers, you're out at the old ball game!!!
